Quickly understand the laser engraving process of cosmetic packaging materials

Guide: When the packaging products are formed, it is necessary to carry out graphic surface treatment, so that the company’s product information and brand information can be conveyed through graphic means. Common surface treatments are various. Here we mainly introduce several cosmetic packages. Common processes in the material industry, such as silk screen printing, pad printing, thermal transfer, hot stamping, water transfer, laser engraving, etc. In this article, we briefly describe the processing technology of laser engraving, which is only for the purchase of newcomers to understand the basics:

Definition of Laser Engraving Process
Laser engraving, also called laser engraving or laser marking, is a process of surface treatment using optical principles. Laser engraving is also a surface treatment process, similar to screen printing, printing on the product or the like, the process is different, the price is different.
Process Characteristics
1.Principle of Laser Engraving Process

The high-intensity focused laser beam emitted by the laser is used to oxidize the material at the focal point to process it; the effect of marking is to expose the deep material by evaporation of the surface material, or to cause traces of chemical and physical changes of the surface material by light energy. Or by burning some of the material through the light energy, and “engraving” the trace, or burning some of the material through the light energy, showing the pattern and text to be etched.
2. Process Performance
The performance of a laser engraving machine is mainly determined by its engraving speed, engraving intensity and spot size.
Engraving speed refers to the speed at which the laser head moves, usually expressed in IPS (miles per second); high speed brings high productivity; speed can also be used to control the depth of cutting or engraving. For a specific laser intensity, the speed is higher. The depth of slow, cutting or engraving is greater. The engraving speed can be adjusted by the control panel of the laser engraving machine, or it can be adjusted by the computer’s print driver. In the range of 1% to 100%, the adjustment range is 1%.
The greater the engraving intensity, the deeper the depth of cutting or engraving.
The spot size can be adjusted with lenses of different focal lengths; the small spot lens is suitable for high-resolution engraving; the large spot lens is suitable for lower resolution engraving, but it is the best choice for vector engraving; the usual standard configuration It is a 2.0-inch lens with a spot size in the middle for a variety of occasions.
System Composition
1.Laser Engraving Machine

It is the use of a laser beam to engrave a permanent imprint on the surface of a material or inside a transparent substance. The laser beam can produce both metamorphic and physical effects on matter! When a substance absorbs laser light in an instant, it produces a physical or chemical reaction, which marks the trace or shows a pattern or text! Therefore, it is also called laser marking machine and laser engraving machine.
2.Applicable Materials
Bamboo and wood products, plexiglass, metal plates, glass, stone, crystal, Corian, paper, two-color board, alumina, leather, plastic, epoxy resin, polyester resin, spray metal.
Application to Cosmetic Packaging
TATApack

The laser engraving process is one of the most commonly used graphic processing processes in addition to silk screen printing and bronzing. In cosmetic packaging materials, common materials such as lipstick tubes and air cushion powder boxes are commonly used.
